“One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.”

      • Students should not be unattended unless they are transitioning to another location.
  • Consequences - It's important to know that despite the fact that we do not have a formal detention program, that does not mean that students should not have consequences for their actions.
    • As I stated in the beginning of the year, if you need to utilize a system like the card system for behavior management, you can use it with clear expectations for each color.
    • If you chose not to have the card system, you should make sure that you and your students create joint classroom rules, protocols, and procedures.
      • If those are not met, you should have logical consequences that are clear for students.
        • For example, if you would like to arrange to keep a student after school and run a reflection meeting, please do so and let Liz and I know.  Here is a resource that can be used to support this time. (Reflection of Action)
