“One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.”
- Carl Jung

- Absences - Please remember to send a text or call your CITs as well as your admin team when you are out. CITs support and prepare subs at the start of the school day.
- Sign In Sheet - Please sign in every day.
- Harvest Activities - If you plan to participate in Harvest Activities, please let me know here.
- Office Referrals - Please send GREEN office referrals to the office so that they are easily visible.
- Additionally, I ask that students not be sent to wait at the bench in front of the office.
- Students should not be unattended unless they are transitioning to another location.
- Consequences - It's important to know that despite the fact that we do not have a formal detention program, that does not mean that students should not have consequences for their actions.
- As I stated in the beginning of the year, if you need to utilize a system like the card system for behavior management, you can use it with clear expectations for each color.
- If you chose not to have the card system, you should make sure that you and your students create joint classroom rules, protocols, and procedures.
- If those are not met, you should have logical consequences that are clear for students.
- For example, if you would like to arrange to keep a student after school and run a reflection meeting, please do so and let Liz and I know. Here is a resource that can be used to support this time. (Reflection of Action)
- Remember to use the Behavior Definitions document for behavior management.
- Tier I interventions and de-escalation should happen before intervention forms are completed.
- Student Reporting of Behaviors - please do not ignore these.
- ACCESS - Please send me your ACCESS certificates upon completion.
- Go to Preparing Students for ACCESS from the WIDA website for advice and practice.
- Observations - Please note that observations posted will always come with feedback and next steps. Additionally, Liz or I may invite you to come in for an observation followup.
- Bus Evacuation - rescheduled to next Tuesday.
- Action Plans - Due November 1st.
- Conference for Two - The following resource is a tool used for supporting student to student conferences within their classrooms. This tool can encourage our students to be independent with their social emotional needs. Conference for Two.
