Things to Consider

Welcome back Connery Students and Teachers!
All staff will report to the building 5 days per week.  
If you have any concerns about your report days, please contact Glenda and Liz. 
  • Student Attendance - please remember to post attendance on time.
  • Thank you to specialists and support staff for coverage this week!  You have been VERY helpful during a tough week of absences.
  • Simultaneous Instruction - Message from Dr. Tutwiler HERE.
  • Mask Break Plan - This is in support of people who have requested a plan for mask break.  We are aware that others are already on a schedule, and are simply providing some options for those that need it.  Mask Break Plan
  • Bathroom Procedures - Reminder only 1 student needs to go to the bathroom at a time.  All grade 3-5 students must sign in and out of their classrooms.
  • Memo about Student Transfers per Dr. Tutwiler
    • Students may NOT switch from Remote to In-person learning (with the exception of students with disabilities, due to the transportation issue).

    • Transfers within LPS to district school will be granted if In-person learning was chosen at previous school; if remote learning was chosen, the student should stay put until the end of the school year.

    • Students may switch from In-person to Remote learning.

  • Attendance Guidance -  If an in-person student does not report to school but does log into the remote learning from home this student needs to be put in as "P" (Present off campus). An inquiry should be made from the Social Worker, Nurse, Principal, or teacher to see if everything is ok and to inquire why the student is not in school. This year, we will practice grace and compassion: it is more important that we have our students accessing their education rather than not coming at all.

  • Progress Monitoring Data (K-2) - Please make sure the data is in by April 23rd.
  • Schedule - The new schedules are in SharePoint.  They do not have adjusted staggered times.  You may adjust times if needed, but we do not want to adjust small group time as it will impact all support staff.
    • Specialists will beginning their new schedules after April vacation.
  • Retention - Glenda and Liz are still holding retention meetings.  Please send your data and Light's Retention Scale to the team by Monday morning.  Please post possible retention candidates here.
    • Due April 16th to admin
  • Report Cards - We have had conversations with admin.  This year is not like last year or last marking term.  All students have the resources they need so if they are failing, they must be marked as such.
    • Reminder: Report Card grades need to reflect the grades of the students.
  • Return - On the date of return to in person learning, all remote students will work asynchronously for an hour.  Please make sure that your remote students know that you will begin later in the day.
    • All in-person students will receive a water bottle. Please label them with a sharpie.  They will be distributed in the near future.
  • Small Group In Person Learning - Please refer to this document for reminders.

Technology:
  • Resources for Laptop and Smartboard Use (Simultaneous Teaching) - Classroom Technology HelpSetting up Zoom for Simultaneous Learning, and Speaker Setup.
  • Expectations - ST Math Minutes - some students have extraordinary high numbers for ST Math.  Please remind students to log onto the other resources that we have as well.  Also, please tell students that they do not need to be on ST Math for 2 hours.  30 minute is sufficient.
  • Subs - Please update sub folders and the Zoom Excel spreadsheet on SharePoint .

  • Artifacts/Evidence - For Non-professional status Teachers: All artifacts are due to Glenda and Liz by April 20Professional Status Teachers submit their evidence by May 1st. If you have any questions regarding evidence, artifacts and/or TeachPoint submissions, please connect with Glenda.

  • Updated Class Assignments - Click Here (This has been updated as of 3/5/2021 to include bathroom assignments for both adults and students at Connery.)

Misc. Info:
  • Ingalls and Connery will support registration by placing a touchless box outside with enrollment forms outside of our school doors from 9-2.
  • Extra Curricular Clubs - We can still take submission for Spring activities!

    Progress Reports/Report Cards
    • Trimester Two Closing Date for grades: March 26th ***no change from original schedule
    • Trimester Two Report Card Distribution via School Messenger: April 9th ***no change from original schedule
    Elementary Report Card Schedule 2nd Trimester TAC Users
    • Marking Period Closes on Friday, March 26, 2021
    • TAC will be ready for ERC 2nd Trimester Grade entry on Wednesday, March 24, 2021
    Grade Entry
    •  All Grades should be entered into TAC by 12 pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
     Mark Verification 
    • By Monday, April 5th in the afternoon you will receive a copy of your Report Cards via email for each student. We ask that you review this copy for any data entry errors. If you need to make any correction, you can simply go back into TAC and make your correction. Each teacher should notify the office that they have reviewed their copy and completed making any changes that are necessary by Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the morning.

    Technology Issues
    • Please remember to submit all technology issues to the Helpdesk by emailing: servicedesk@lynnschools.org . Be sure to provide as many details as possible including name of user having issue (email or stu#), problem, program being used, etc.
    • Please enter tickets for EACH problem they encounter with as much information as possible included.
