Things to Consider
Please read the weekly update carefully.

All staff will report to the building 5 days per week.
  • We have completed all MCAS testing for Grades 3-5! Thank you to all who helped pull off this "different" testing period. We appreciate all the support. ~  Glenda and Liz
  • Report Cards grades are due. Please start to fill the student's grades in TAC immediately. They must be entered into TAC by 6/9/21. Glenda will start reviewing them on June 9th. Report cards will be sent electronically to families on June 17th by School Messenger.
  • Retention Family Meetings and Phone Calls - We need to set up retention meetings for the retention candidates.  Please confirm the time and place of these meetings.  Communication should be completed as soon as possible.
  • Please be advised that on Friday, June 11, there are already multiple staff absences.
  • Summer Learning Coordinator - Liz Ruiz has agreed to be our Summer Learning Coordinator. We need your help to gather 10-15 students per class.  Please promote this great learning opportunity for our students during the last weeks of school. We still need additional students to complete programming.
  • Summer Program Updates
    • clerks can work summer school (optional).  They will also receive incentivized pay
    • All schools may appoint a summer school coordinator to assist in organizing/set-up of the program and then once program begins with all administrative tasks
    • Teachers do not have to commit to working the 4 weeks...it can be split
  • The testing window for both System 44 and DIBEL's (K-2) begins on 5/10. Please be advised: Small groups may look different to accommodate the support staff completing these end of year benchmark tests.
  • Running Records: The window for the End of year Running Records is May 24 - June 11. Once the running record is complete, the Instructional level of each student should be added to SharePoint / Assessment Data in the Schoolwide Data folder/  SY 2021 / Guided Reading Template folder.  Accurate end of year information is critical to organizing groups for Summer School and next year. More information to follow.
  • Evaluations-  Please go onto your TeachPoint and review and then sign your evaluation and other forms that need signatures before the school year ends.   We will be available before and after school for anyone who would like to meet and discuss your evaluation.  Reach out to Liz or Glenda for a meeting.
  • Bathroom Procedures - Reminder only 1 student needs to go to the bathroom at a time.
  • All grade 3-5 students must sign in and out of their classrooms.
  • Fire Drills - Please begin to practice fire drills with your classroom.
  • Connery Parent Decision Document
Technology:
  • From Tim Roach:   Unless students are leaving the district, they will keep their current devices for the summer which should allow for a smooth start in the fall. There are a few schools we have coordinated replacements in the coming weeks, which has not changed. I didn’t want this email to confuse those plans. We will coordinate a return of the Kindergarten iPads, in exchange of laptops over the summer. Once I have a schedule for this, we will be sure to let everyone know when it will be. I am hoping we can have a good turnout. We will also include incoming kindergarten students for these pickups as well.
  • Resources for Laptop and Smartboard Use (Simultaneous Teaching) - Classroom Technology HelpSetting up Zoom for Simultaneous Learning, and Speaker Setup.
  • Expectations - ST Math Minutes - some students have extraordinary high numbers for ST Math.  Please remind students to log onto the other resources that we have as well. 30 minutes on both Imagine Learning and ST Math is sufficient.
  • Subs - Please update sub folders and the Zoom Excel spreadsheet on SharePoint.
  • Update Your Zoom Information - Zoom Information
