        • Renaissance Literacy Training :
          • First round is just for classroom teachers, reading teachers, and CITs
          • Phase 2 is for Special Education

        • Imagine Learning PD: All staff will be trained on Imagine Learning on Wednesday, October 13 from 1:15-2:30pm.
        • Homework - ELA and Math each day.  ELA is 15-20 minutes of reading or having someone read to them depending on their age, grade, or ability (RazKids or Take Home Book Bags - both purchased for students this year).  For Math, students should have 15-20 minutes worth of grade level appropriate fluency practice.  Please refer to the fluency chart below:
        • Lesson Planning Expectations - It is the expectation that teams plan together for all content areas.  Lessons should be revised from year to year. We should never use the same exact lessons unless they yielded great success.
        • Night Back - These started last week and need to be targeted based on data.  Please track this data so that we are aware of the student growth.
          • Attendance needs to come to the office on the morning of your night back. The office is fielding lots of calls from parents asking questions regarding all programs that are occurring after school at Connery.
          • Here is the attendance form that you should use.
          • For classroom teachers, we need all night back instruction to focus on Math Fluency.
        • Clubs - If you have started a club, please send the attendance to the office in the morning. Parents are calling throughout the day asking the office which program their child is staying for.
          • Students have been sent home by classroom teachers when they were signed up to stay after school in a program. Please make sure that each classroom teacher knows which students are attending a program after school.
        • Objectives - Objectives should be posted and visible at all times.  They should be stated to the students and referred to throughout the lesson, and should be updated daily.
          • Glenda and Liz will be coming to each classroom to observe these.
        • Schoology Expectations - Admin has shared the following expectations for Schoology.
        • Cafeteria Table Assignments - Here are the table assignments for Grades K-5 for lunch and for Grades 1-5 for breakfast.  Click here for cafeteria assignments. Please make sure that each student has an assigned seat for lunch.
        • Wednesday Schedule - Please update your schedule on our Share Drive to reflect the early release and half days.
        • Attendance - This should be done every day by 8:45 AM.
        • Fire Drills and Lockdowns -
          • Lockdowns - Explain to students that we will be practicing moving to a safe space in the classroom, staying quiet and in a sitting position.  Remember your doors should remain in the locked position.

        New Staff Information:
        • All absences are put into Frontline Education. Full day requests are the only option. Contact your CIT if you are planning a personal day.
        Technology:
        • Laptops: Please remind students to bring their laptops charged daily! Please assist your students in updating their laptops when necessary.

          • To help students and their families to remember to bring in laptops daily, each teacher could ask the class while they are outside in the arrival line "does everyone have their laptop, today?" If they do not, they can go let their parent know that they will need it at school today and every day. Parents can bring it to school after arrival.
          • If there are students who consistently forget to pack their laptop, you can send their names to Ms. Dunnigan or the CIT's and we will make phone calls home to remind parents.
          • This will be a process to get everyone on board remembering to pack their laptops charged daily, but after a few calls home we believe that the problem will be solved.
        Staff Information:
        Health and Safety:
        • Recess has created a slight increase at the nurse's office.  Please remember that recess can be an opportunity for community engagement.  In the past, we use this resource guide as a means to support full class activities.
        • Please remind students to wear their masks properly.  Here is an awesome PPT that Marla, our behavioral specialist created.
Misc. Info: Inventory for Professional Development - please complete so that we can track the books that we each have in our classrooms.
