Things to Consider
Please read the weekly update carefully.
Operational:
PLT's this week are ELA with Cyndi and Tracey
- Homework - ELA and Math each day. ELA is 15-20 minutes of reading or having someone read to them depending on their age, grade, or ability (RazKids or Take Home Book Bags - both purchased for students this year). For Math, students should have 15-20 minutes worth of grade level appropriate fluency practice. Please refer to the fluency chart below:
- Lesson Planning Expectations - It is the expectation that teams plan together for all content areas. Lessons should be revised from year to year. We should never use the same exact lessons unless they yielded great success.
- The ELA and Math structures have been shared and explained. Make sure that your lessons follow this structure.
- Unit Planners, Lesson Plans, or PPT should be kept on the share drive so that support staff and admin have access to them. (21-22 Lesson Plan - Connery Share)
- Night Back - These should start next week and need to be targeted based on data. Please track this data so that we are aware of the student growth.
- Attendance needs to come to the office on the day of your night back.
- Here is the attendance form that you should use.
- For classroom teachers, we need all night back instruction to focus on Math Fluency.
- Objectives - Objectives should be posted and visible at all times. They should be stated to the students and referred to throughout the lesson, and should be updated daily.
- Glenda and Liz will be coming to each classroom to observe these.
- Schoology Expectations - Admin has shared the following expectations for Schoology.
- Cafeteria Table Assignments - Here are the table assignments for Grades K-5 for lunch and for Grades 1-5 for breakfast. Click here for cafeteria assignments. Please make sure that each student has an assigned seat for lunch.
- Wednesday Schedule - Please update your schedule on our Share Drive to reflect the early release and half days.
- Attendance - This should be done every day by 8:45 AM.
- Fire Drills and Lockdowns - Great job everyone, we were able to get out of the building in 3 minutes and 4 seconds.
- Fire Drills - Make sure that you have a clipboard or folder near your door with a class list and green and red paper in a clear sleeve attached. This clipboard should be taken outside with you.
- Lockdowns - Explain to students that we will be practicing moving to a safe space in the classroom, staying quiet and in a sitting position. Remember your doors should remain in the locked position.
