Things to Consider

Please read the weekly update carefully.

• Equity Training - All staff including paras join the reflection days.  Paras will be permitted to depart an hour early from their work day on Friday.  Therefore, they may leave at 1:15.
• ACCESS Window Extended - it will now be January 7th - May 20th.
• Due to COVID - 19, we will be requesting that ALL staff get trained in preparation for supporting our testing schedule. 
• Thank you to the ESL Team for presenting information about training and certification for ACCESS, Please send your certificates to Glenda and Liz when you have completed the training.
• Colleen Flick and Pam will be working on student groupings for ACCESS on Tuesday, January 5th and will not be in classes on this day.
• Dr. Parker Days - Grades K-2, please refer to the schedule for Dr. Parker Days.
• ClassLink is Live: Please take the time this week to teach students how to use the single sign on.  You must use this email address: https://launchpad.classlink.com/lynnschools.  If you or students are missing apps, please email: bansfields@lynnschools.org, mowerj@lynnschools.org, wryd@lynnschools.org, and colellac@lynnschools.org
• An email was sent with information about which apps have been preloaded.
• It was requested that Helpdesk push the link and chrome browser extension to all laptops and the app to iPads.

• Update Zoom Links - Most Zoom links have expired or will this week.  Please make sure that all students and families have the most updated zoom links.  Also, please add them to our zoom links file.
• District Handbooks - for a second year in a row, handbooks are digital.  They can be found in English, Spanish, Khmer, Arabic, Hatian Creole and Portuguese at:   (http://www.lynnschools.org/resources/students.shtml?gpm=1_2).
• Teacher Absences - Please post all absences on Aesop and connect with your CIT and your Sub before your scheduled day.
• Evaluation - The district shared that there are pushing back the evidence submission for Non-PTS from January 5th to January 22nd. 
• Artifacts - Please do not place artifacts in PowerPoints. Please use the guidance document emailed during the week.
• Report Card & Grades - Please review the weight of grades and engagment on Kim's letter. Also, please note that when you go to enter competencies, you need to change the marking period from M1 to T1. On your Competency Entry page, click the change tab at the top, when you do a box will pop up and there will be a drop-down box next to marking period.  Using the down arrow, select T1.
• iReady - Calendar invites have been sent out to all grade levels.  K will be at a different time due to schedule, and 1-2 and 3-5 will be in two seperate groups.  Please look out for email invitations.
• Special Ed Compensatory Services - The team chairs will hold the CCS meetings for students that have an annual due between Sept. 1, 2020 - Jan. 4, 2021 and between Feb. 26, 2021 - June 17, 2021.
• Observations - The second round of observations has begun and we will focus on Whole Group ELA and Math structure.
• Imagine Learning / ST Math - Please reach out to families whose children are not logging into Imagine Learning and ST Math.  This is asynchronous work for all grades.  
• Small Groups Instruction - At this point, it is the expectation that we are transitioning our students to use buttons for small groups.
• Laptops - Please make sure that all students have LPS issued devices. Please have families call helpdesk to receive LPS devices.
• Homework - Please look over usage of ST Math, Imagine Learning, and RazKids.
• Schoology - Please place your class zoom and buttons on Schoology.
• Attendance - Please post attendance on time and everyday.  There have been lots of staff members on the non-submitter report.
• Extra Curricular Clubs - We can still take submission for Spring activities! 
• We can do a club that focuses on tech support for students and parents!

Technology Department

Testing

• HelpDesk will notify principals when they have devices ready to swap out old student laptops
• All student devices have been updated with the most recent version of Windows 10.
• Start thinking about which rooms will be used for testing and how many in each room. The HelpDesk will need these numbers – a form will be coming soon.

iReady

• Principal iReady training will be on 1/7/20 at 9:30 am
• Diagnostic Testing window will be 1/25/21 – 2/12/21

Technology Issues

• Please remember to submit all technology issues to the Helpdesk by emailing: servicedesk@lynnschools.org . Be sure to provide as many details as possible including name of user having issue (email or stu#), problem, program being used, etc.
• Please enter tickets for EACH problem they encounter with as much information as possible included.
