Things to Consider
Please read the weekly update carefully.

  • Staff Updates:  Tracey Greenfield will be returning in February and will take over as 3-5 Literacy CIT for Amanda M. when she goes on her leave. Judy O. will be continuing as the teacher in Rm. G3. Gretchen will continue to teach in Rm. 109 until March.
  • Next School Week - Glenda and Liz will be in the building every day.  If you would like to come to school, please connect with Glenda so that she can set up safe protocols and routines for the building.
  • Student Laptop Passwords - Student passwords are expiring.  We'd like to keep everyone on the same page with passwords, so it is easy to support them.  Please pay special attention to Candice's email about passwords.
  • Please fill out this very quick form about the apps you'd like to have added on classlink.  I will submit the district request by Monday at 12:00 pm.
  • Report Card & Grades - Please verify report cards and have 1 team member confirm verifications to Glenda and LeeAnn.
  • ELE Meeting - Rania would like all staff to join the ELE Meeting on January 20th.
  • ACCESS Window Extended - it will now be January 7th - May 20th.
  • ClassLink is Live: Please take the time this week to teach students how to use the single sign on.  You must use this email address: https://launchpad.classlink.com/lynnschools.  If you or students are missing apps, please email: bansfields@lynnschools.org, mowerj@lynnschools.org, wryd@lynnschools.org, and colellac@lynnschools.org
  • Update Zoom Links - Most Zoom links have expired or will this week.  Please make sure that all students and families have the most updated zoom links.  Also, please add them to our zoom links file.
  • District Handbooks - for a second year in a row, handbooks are digital.  They can be found in English, Spanish, Khmer, Arabic, Hatian Creole and Portuguese at:   (http://www.lynnschools.org/resources/students.shtml?gpm=1_2).
  • Teacher Absences - Please post all absences on Aesop and connect with your CIT and your Sub before your scheduled day.
  • Evaluation - The district shared that they are pushing back the evidence submission for Non-PTS from January 5th to January 22nd. 
    • Artifacts - Please do not place artifacts in PowerPoints. Please use the guidance document emailed during the week.
  • iReady - all staff have attended training for iReady. The diagnostic testing window will be 1/25/21 – 2/12/21
  • Special Ed Compensatory Services - The team chairs will hold the CCS meetings for students that have an annual due between Sept. 1, 2020 - Jan. 4, 2021 and between Feb. 26, 2021 - June 17, 2021.
  • Observations - The second round of observations continues and we will focus on Whole Group ELA and Math structure.
  • RazKids - Please keep in mind that in small group instruction, we are doing guided reading and all students should be accessing RazKids for instruction.  There should not be any students in 1-5 that are not utilizing RazKids.
  • Imagine Learning / ST Math - Please reach out to families whose children are not logging into Imagine Learning and ST Math.  This is asynchronous work for all grades.
  • Small Groups Instruction - At this time, it is the expectation that we are transitioning our students to use buttons for small groups.
  • Laptops - Please make sure that all students have LPS issued devices. Please have families call helpdesk to receive LPS devices.
  • Homework - Please look over usage of ST Math, Imagine Learning, and RazKids.
  • Schoology - Please place your class zoom and buttons on Schoology. All students should be able to navigate and use Schoology every day. If a student continues to struggle with Schoology , please reach out to Candice, Glenda or Liz for assistance. Begin to talk with your students regarding full-day asynchronous work. This will happen on all the ACCESS dates. 
  • Attendance - Please post attendance on time and everyday.  There have been lots of staff members on the non-submitter report.
  • Extra Curricular Clubs - We can still take submission for Spring activities! 
    • We can do a club that focuses on tech support for students and parents!

    ClassLink

    • If  staff or students cannot access ClassLink or if they are missing apps, please email servicedesk@lynnschools.org, bansfields@lynnschools.org, mowerj@lynnschools.org, wryd@lynnschools.org, and colellac@lynnschools.org
    • After much thought, we have decided not to add Schoology to ClassLink. We are recommending that all teachers add the Classlink URL, https://launchpad.classlink.com/lynnschools to their course pages so students will be able to access all resources both from within Classlink as well as through the link pushed out by the Help Desk.
    • We have requested the Helpdesk push the link and chrome browser extension to all laptops and the app to iPads.

    Teams

    •  Teams messenger has been turned off for all students. Please let the helpdesk know if problems continue with students accessing.

    Testing

    • HelpDesk will notify principals when they have devices ready to swap out old student laptops
    • All student devices have been updated with the most recent version of Windows 10.

    iReady

    • Diagnostic Testing window will be 1/25/21 – 2/12/21

    Technology Issues
    • Please remember to submit all technology issues to the Helpdesk by emailing: servicedesk@lynnschools.org . Be sure to provide as many details as possible including name of user having issue (email or stu#), problem, program being used, etc.
    • Please enter tickets for EACH problem they encounter with as much information as possible included.
